But don’t take it from us…. Take it from the ones who know us best.
Working for Norene and Mark at Four Pines in Jackson, Wyoming completely changed my career. As a traveler I spent almost a year with them, one extension after another, and with a heavy heart finally had to move on to be with family in Texas. With Four Pines, I found an owner, leadership and a whole staff who truly cared about me as a person and as a professional. And me being just another traveler who may be only a vague memory! I found not only friends, but a deep sense of belonging to a family, all of us being on the same mission to have a meaningful life and give healing and love to all who came through the doors. I found my first real growth as a PT with ACTUAL mentorship which was consistently and regularly scheduled and instantly valuable. In Four Pines, I finally had leadership who believed in me, who never micromanaged, who set the example not by showing me my limitations but rather by modeling a practice of quality, effectiveness and efficiency. One that is legendary in Jackson Hole. I never felt like "less than" although by all rights I most certainly was. Yes, Jackson Hole is everything you have heard. Looking out of an entire wall of windows into the world of snow and elk in the winter and the lush green mountainside in the summertime definitely did much to contribute to the joy I felt in the Four Pines clinic. Or maybe it was looking at the top of the ridge and seeing the trail I just ran on lunch break that lit me up inside, though I believe the real truth was less tangible. It was the friends and family I made there. It was the sense of finally finding the thing I had been looking for my entire career. A place of healing. Not just for my patients. For me.
Four Pines felt like my home away from home, and that is rare to say about your workplace! All my coworkers were like family to me. There was endless support, mentorship, generosity, laughter, and fun times. It was a great place to learn about the field of physical therapy and I learned so much from the amazing PTs that work at Four Pines. Working there greatly influenced my future career endeavors of becoming a physical therapist. Being a technician at Four Pines made me feel like I was positively impacting the community and health of the town of northwestern Wyoming.
When I signed a contract at Four Pines as a Travel PT I expected it to be like any other contract, but this was far from it. I was accepted with open arms by all members of the staff and immediately felt a part of their work family. This clinic goes above and beyond serving their patients, community and staff. Every clinician deeply cares about their profession and strives to deliver the best care I have seen as a company. They have the perfect team of administration, clinicians, tech support and front desk that excels in communication and patient care. Four Pines does a fantastic job of getting to know every member of their team not only within the profession, but as a person with hobbies and other interests. I only have positive experiences from my year at Four Pines and cannot recommend them enough. I will forever cherish my time spent there as they have helped me grow into a better therapist and a better person.
As a travel physical therapist, you're never sure what you're walking into when you sign a contract. Four Pines is easily the best clinic I've worked at and the hardest to part with. Not only does the clinic have an evidence-based practice model, the staff truly care about you as a person. I've made life-long friends and connections with clinicians that will continue to be a resource for me as I travel for new assignments. The physical therapists practice what they preach and train just as hard as they expect their patients to. I left there a better clinician and know it won't be my last time as a FPPT employee!
